Russian
artist Dmitri V. Poltavski's early works (1994-1996)
are mostly pen-and-ink drawings (Indian ink on
cardboard, pen, wiping cloth). They combine grotesque
and surreal elements, influenced by works of Aubrey
Beardsley, Odilon Redon and Elizabeth Kruglikova.
Poltavski also creates portraits and street scenes
in addition to nudes.
